AdvancedMD EHR Software

Founded in 1999, AdvancedMD is an integrated suite of software solutions for independent physician practices and medical healthcare organizations. The company is based in South Jordan, Utah, and serves around 22,500 medical experts across 600 medical billing companies, and 8,000 healthcare practices. AdvancedMD medical billing platform processes almost 3.5M insurance claims each month.

The cloud-based solution assists practitioners and clinics in workflow automation and ensures accurate data transfers. Key features include patient relationship management, electronic health records, practice management, physician-performance benchmarking, telemedicine, and business analytics reporting. It additionally provides a billing service for practices looking to outsource a third-party billing vendor.

AdvancedMD is an ONC 2014 Certified EHR that meets and satisfies all the HIPAA and MACRA requirements. The software is browser agnostic and runs nearly on any devices, including Windows and Mac operating systems. Besides, their mobile app, AdvancedMobile, allows users to stay connected at the point of care.

The company recently introduced a smart practice dashboard designed to display a medical facility’s frequently performed workflow elements in a central location to manage tasks efficiently with greater speed and ease. Users get a scheduled snapshot & task list that displays work volumes and other critical elements.

AdvancedMD Pricing:  The company offers flexible pricing options. Small medical practices with low patient volumes get standalone product for $1.42 per encounter, while integrated software solution is offered at $2.18 per encounter. The integrated OM and EMR comes at $729/provider/month for the standard monthly subscription model. You can also get a customized quote by clicking on the ‘get pricing’ button.

Physical Therapy Practice

Pros:
Robust tool. Excellent ongoing support. The set-up is amazing. The reason why we chose AdvancedMD is that the sales and support staff are very supportive.

Cons:
For a small practice, this tool might be a bit more complexed. Even the most simple tasks sometimes are pretty complex to execute for which we require support.

Appointment confirmation

Pros:
It is easy to handle multiple schedules at once due to its appealing appearance. The appointment confirmation checklist is something I like as it has all the options to document as to what occurred.

Cons:
I would like to have the PM and EMR in one system rather than always have to keep jumping and switching between the two. I’ve also had some issues with tracking the payment of patients.

Reminders

Pros:
The tool is good and reliable, but it has a learning curve to it, just like any other tool.

Cons:
When patients receive appointment reminders and cancel their appointments, they are unable to reschedule. This feature shouldn’t be available to cancel unless I don’t cancel the appointment reminders.

AdvancedMD

Pros:
It is a robust EHR and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants their practice to grow. I like how I enter the information once and can pull it out into multiple additional forms. It is easy to customize the forms the way you want it to be.

Cons:
The system has a learning curve to it but they do assign a trainer and provide unlimited support which helps.

Not mental health specific

Pros:
The software is good and has everything that usually a provider requires.

Cons:
It is not tailored according to mental health. It takes a lot of time in training and setting it up.
It is complex for an average user.

Slow and unimpressive service

Pros:
The system is incredibly slow. We are only using it for the time being before we fully incorporate an EMR into our practice. We mainly use AdvancedMD for practice management but waiting for outcomes has been very frustrating. The only good thing about the company is that their customer service is in-house rather than outsourced to a private company in a far-off country. Getting hold of the support staff do sometimes take time but the staff is knowledgeable and often provides an instant resolution. Their claim scrubbing module and billing system are nice.

Cons:
We have checked and confirmed too many times if it’s our servers or some lacking system requirements that are resulting in software working so slow but we have everything in order and the system appears to be inherently slow which is annoying, to say the least. The software is already expensive and there are additional charges for any additional services you may add.

Amazing service for Insurance billing

Pros:
We use this software for our billings and it has been great at it so far. It integrates well with our EMR which is Practice Fusion and it does not work well with most billing software. AdvancedMD is easy to use and intuitive. Their claims scrubbing module makes our work very convenient. The company people are very helpful in a way that they will set up your system and have you working in a matter of weeks. Albeit they work better from their own clearinghouses and companies they’re in partnership with. Their customer support is great. The staff is very responsive. We use only one provider and it has worked out great for us. The many functionalities of the software save us a lot of time and effort.

Cons:
Adding a third-party vendor needs to be planned months beforehand as it can be a hassle. It requires a lot of effort to set up and takes quite some time to integrate with the system.

Our EHR consultants can help narrow down software options for you based on your price range and needs.
