Pros thumbs-up

In my experience, this EHR is the very first one I have used that manages to be both simple to navigate and stocked with a thorough array of reports, indeed, it contains every report I could imagine needing and even additional ones beyond those requests.

Cons thumbs-up

I find that the support team's response times are slower than I would prefer which can be frustrating when I need timely assistance.

Pros thumbs-up

Being able to access patient charts from the schedule is something I genuinely value since it organizes my workflow by letting me open records immediately without having to hunt through separate menus.

Cons thumbs-up

In my experience the system runs painfully slowly and I feel that the underlying data network is outdated to the point that it hampers my efficiency during busy clinic sessions.

Pros thumbs-up

To be honest, I couldn't identify anything about Compulink that I genuinely enjoyed or appreciated as it offered no particular features that stood out to me.

Cons thumbs-up

In my experience, the program was not user-friendly for either the optical or medical staff and the training period was far too brief, after several weeks of struggling to master it I still found myself confused.

Pros thumbs-up

I greatly appreciated the Compulink team and the speed with which they answer questions and they have consistently shown a readiness to assist me in tailoring both the provider and patient sides of the system to align with my clinical needs. Owning a combined sports medicine and eating disorder practice meant that I asked them to eliminate weight as a mandatory field in numerous templates and to remove certain automated patient education materials that I found could be triggering for some of my patients and they did so without hesitation. They also worked with me to reconfigure my charting workspace in ways that allow me to finish documentation more quickly. Ultimately, I can use the identical EMR across my own sports and family medicine work, my physical therapist, my chiropractor and soon for my therapist and dietician colleagues as well.

Cons thumbs-up

Compared to Epic, adding diagnoses sometimes requires a bit more effort than I was used to although that extra work diminishes as the system becomes more familiar with ongoing use, making the process smoother over time. Throughout my career I have worked with Epic, Cerner and Meditech, with Epic remaining my unequivocal favorite based on functionality and workflow. Because I run a small private practice, the expense of Epic made it an unrealistic option for us, yet even so I prefer Compulink to Cerner and find it substantially more user-friendly than Meditech when weighing features, cost and practicality for a practice of our size.

Pros thumbs-up

As I continued to use the product more and more, it gradually became easier to navigate and operate although there was a considerable amount of upfront effort required to get the initial setup going.

Cons thumbs-up

I had to have several sections added to the documentation because they were missing important details and the team is presently working on incorporating those updates now.

Pros thumbs-up

I really appreciate how simple Compulink is to navigate because locating patients is effortless and the interface places tabs across the top for every component of the patient chart, with drop-down selection menus available almost everywhere and flexible, customizable tables and a scheduler, I genuinely enjoy using the system.

Cons thumbs-up

As an optometry practice we find there are substantial portions of the software that we currently do not leverage but would like to incorporate, yet the task of entering and programming the necessary data into the system feels overwhelmingly complex to me, furthermore because our clinic does not utilize the ordering modules, the related price-calculation features and insurance-billing workflows are effectively unavailable to us.

Pros thumbs-up

Extremely adaptable to our needs , because no two ASCs operate the same way, we genuinely appreciate that Compulink permits us to make direct changes to our own workflows (from the overall layout to documentation templates and printable forms) exactly as we require, without imposing excessive hurdles or bureaucratic steps. The measurable improvement in productivity and efficiency has been significant: after implementing Compulink in our ASC, we were able to design a workflow that fits our practice exceptionally well and whereas chart preparation previously demanded two full-time front desk receptionists, we now rely on a single receptionist to manage that responsibility. Regarding usability, our nurses and technicians find the system simple since most of their charting can be completed on a single screen and they can create Favorites to document more rapidly which in turn makes it simple for us to onboard new hires and temporary agency staff quickly and effectively. When it comes to customer service, we seldom require assistance from Compulink but on the occasions that we do reach out, we consistently receive prompt, engaged and helpful responses from their support advocates. From a financial standpoint the software has been budget-friendly, with clear, simple invoicing and pricing that has remained stable over the years even amid the pandemic and ensuing inflation. Finally, the platform's stability is reflected in the longevity of many Compulink who helped get my former surgery center operational on their platform, from a management perspective this continuity is valuable because I know exactly whom to contact when I need help and the company's low internal turnover speaks volumes about their reliability and institutional knowledge.

Cons thumbs-up

Historically we have come acrossproblems following some system updates and on one particularly serious occasion an update produced a substantial loss of data that forced us to revert to paper charts until the problem was resolved, that incident was disruptive and instructive and naturally raised concerns about update processes and safeguards. Having said that, it has been quite a long time since we experienced any update-related failures, the vendor appears to have addressed the underlying causes and subsequent updates have not caused similar operational interruptions so while the earlier data loss was a significant pain point, it now seems to be an isolated and corrected issue.

Jeffrey

Pros thumbs-up

I appreciate that the system can transmit a patient's history and demographic information to them ahead of their appointment which simplifies the intake process, I also rely on Compulink for built-in authorization workflows, smooth equipment integration and consolidated contact lens capabilities , encompassing evaluation, ordering and sales , while valuing the customizable settings and the logical, well-organized presentation of its tabs.

Cons thumbs-up

I would like the software to automatically determine the appropriate contact lens from a combination of refraction data, trial lens findings and over-refraction measurements and I also need the ability to import or work with Excel spreadsheets directly in Compulink as that functionality is currently insufficient or missing.

Graham

Hospital & Health Care

Pros thumbs-up

What I appreciate most is that it brings together nearly every EMR and practice-management function I need into one cohesive package which saves me from having to manage multiple disparate systems.

Cons thumbs-up

That said, I am frustrated by the restricted ability to customize reports unless I purchase extra paid features, the fact that exam layout customization is unavailable without upgrading to a higher-cost version, several workflows that feel overly convoluted and non-simple, very limited search and sort capabilities within lists and the lack of an efficient method for adding entries to system tables.
