We have noticed the software experiencing more frequent glitches since the Meditech Expanse upgrade and so far we have been unable to determine whether these issues are originating from the application itself or from our computer systems.

Pros ![]()
I've found that the system can store an incredible amount of data, holding so many discrete details across records that its capacity genuinely surprises me.
Cons ![]()
From my experience, Meditech feels like the old guard of clinical software , a legacy system that routinely freezes and struggles to interface with other applications and its clunky, unattractive interface makes typical workflows unnecessarily difficult to navigate although I eventually became competent with it and can work within its constraints, the platform is so atypical compared with more commonly used solutions that employers in this region are reluctant to hire someone whose sole experience is with Meditech.
Pros ![]()
I find that Meditech can be extremely user-friendly not only during implementation but also in everyday operation, nevertheless, the configuration of parameters is absolutely critical for each individual module and for the overarching system and when my implementer or our workflows don't accommodate those settings, I have to resolve them myself.
Cons ![]()
From my experience, the medical record number wheel tends to cause issues during go-lives, often creating unexpected complications that require immediate attention from the implementation team.
