Nearly a year into using it, I'm still not ready to give a final opinion. There are enough unresolved problems that I'm basically waiting to see whether things actually get better before deciding.

A lot of older data is missing especially exams and appointments dated before June 2025 which simply do not appear in the system. In the Exam History (Recent) area, it may show that a visit was transferred but it is not marked as a Previous Software Encounter and when you open that visit, no information appears at all. Some items in Exam History (Recent) are also labeled incorrectly, such as visits showing up as Comprehensive Exams when they were really Red Eye visits. On top of that, contact lens prescriptions seem to have transferred only for the OD and finalized eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions that were never purchased through our office did not transfer either.
Pros ![]()
Compared with other EMR systems, this one doesn't feel as accessible or smooth to use but I do appreciate that it's web based and accessible through the internet.
Cons ![]()
There's a bit of a learning curve to it. Creating medical records on the platform isn't very easy especially when it comes to setting up the database for the office.
Pros ![]()
overall I consider this a good product and like any technology I use it does have its share of issues so from my view the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
Cons ![]()
I feel that there are far too many mouse clicks required to complete tasks and in my experience some enhancements take a long time to be implemented.
Pros ![]()
I appreciate the breadth of functionality RevolutionEHR offers, because within a single platform my team and I are able to handle a wide range of tasks without needing to switch between multiple applications.
Cons ![]()
Although I don't come across them often, intermittent glitches sometimes interfere with my ability to see specific areas of the screen, which can be annoying when I'm trying to complete time-sensitive work.
Pros ![]()
Right from the start, the site feels fast and simple to work with. It makes handling scheduling and all the patient information we need really convenient. For an optical practice, it's the best platform out there.
Cons ![]()
My only complaint is that it can be a little slow once in a while but most of the time it runs really well. I also appreciate how beginner friendly it is.
Pros ![]()
Everyone at the Eye Center of the Dakotas wanted to give a big shout-out to our fantastic RevCycle biller! We're truly grateful for the kind of person she is and for all the excellent work she does to keep our billing operations running well. We noticed there was a chance to send in a story or share feedback but we weren't totally sure of the right format. Hopefully this reaches the right place!
Cons ![]()
There really aren't many concerns, aside from the occasional downtime when the system goes down. Also, the pop up windows in the upper-right corner often block other information which makes navigation a little inconvenient.
Pros ![]()
Built specifically for eye care, the workflow fits the way an optometry exam actually happens. The exam flow feels accessible and natural instead of coming across like a general medical EHR that was simply adapted for eye care.
Cons ![]()
An ongoing frustration is how click heavy it can be. Switching between different parts of an exam usually takes several clicks and that starts to feel monotonous fast during a busy day in clinic.
Pros ![]()
Everything about the workflow feels practical and well thought out, like it was built by people who truly understand how clinics operate in the real world. The interface adjusts really well across all kinds of screen sizes and layouts, whether it's being used inside the office or on the go. Integrations with RevIntake and RevPayments have saved our staff a huge amount of time, cut down on frustration and made things better for patients too. On top of that, the platform continues to improve year after year which has been one of the biggest positives.
Cons ![]()
There was fairly frequent downtime during 2025 although that seems to have been resolved now after the move to a more stable AWS server.
Pros ![]()
Our optical workflow stays incredibly well organized. It keeps all of our glasses and contact lens orders in one place so looking back at previous orders when needed is very simple. There's room for notes, measurements, tracking numbers, shipping destinations and plenty of other details which makes the system really practical for daily use. It also helps me stay on top of what glasses are currently in stock and what has sold recently. That makes reordering much easier whenever reps come by the office. Overall, it keeps our optical operations running really efficiently.
Cons ![]()
Part that I don't really like is that I can't add certain glasses option drop downs unless I use the "change" button. That becomes frustrating because I then have to mark the charges again as non billable.
Pros ![]()
As someone who uses the app regularly, I've found its interface to be highly approachable, with an simple layout that makes navigation simple.
Cons ![]()
Although it's easy to use for routine operations, when I try to tackle advanced functions such as billing reconciliation or generating detailed reports, I often discover that substantial training and hands-on experience are necessary to use those features effectively.
