I really appreciated how professionally and politely the support agent handled things with me and my business. He actually took the time to dig into the billing problems and work through them step by step, instead of giving me a quick runaround.

Tebra feels overly complicated and whenever something goes wrong it typically points you to an article to read. Those articles are hard for me to follow and I end up needing one-on-one help with a real live person to get the issue resolved.
Pros ![]()
The whole system feels pretty simple though there's still quite a bit to learn. The onboarding experience was excellent and I genuinely appreciate how guided it felt.
Cons ![]()
There's definitely a lot to learn up front. The pricing is another sticking point and I end up needing extra help from people around me. I also wish the overall process moved faster but I understand it's still a defined process.
Pros ![]()
Actually this software does the bare minimum. It can route your front point A to point B but there's nothing standout beyond that basic functionality.
Cons ![]()
Customer service was absolutely horrible. I got locked out of the software and I told the support rep I'm the owner and provided verified credentials. Even then, he couldn't do a basic password reset or unlock my account. He claimed that because he was a "Level 1" support rep, he wasn't able to help and even after I asked to speak with a supervisor-or for escalation to Level 2-he basically told me nobody could help, not even someone in IT development. Simple account recovery tasks like password resets and unlocking accounts should be handled as entry-level support and if they're not, that raises the question of why customer support exists at all. Honestly, I'd rather go back to manually writing CMS 1500 forms with a pen and candlelight than deal with this kind of support again.
Pros ![]()
It's seriously cost effective and the support team has been great whenever we've needed them. I also like that it integrates with a bunch of different EMRs which made rollout much simpler. The workflow feels simple and new staff picked it up quickly without much hassle.
Cons ![]()
A few of the reports can be a bit challenging to work through. Also, there are times when pulling data using the Excel add-in doesn't come out quite right so I have to double-check what was exported.
Pros ![]()
The charts feel generally user friendly. I also really appreciate how convenient it is to open a patient chart and then open the notes and documents in separate windows-this makes it much easier to keep typing while I'm working in split-screen mode.
Cons ![]()
There's not much I dislike about Tebra. One thing I'd love to improve: when I create a new note and open the dropdown to choose a template, I wish I could customize that list to only show the 3-4 templates I use most, instead of having to scroll through options like physical therapy notes or therapist notes that I'll never actually use.
Pros ![]()
Bringing all a patient's information together on one screen-so I don't have to jump between different tabs-would really speed up verifying patients, including looking at the insurance details.
Cons ![]()
Everything that's needed to learn is already included and there's nothing I dislike. It also feels like the training is set up in a way that supports using the information day to day to keep things moving smoothly.
Pros ![]()
I've been using Kareo/Tebra since 2019 and I genuinely like the service they provide. The platform was simple for me to learn and quick to get up to speed with and the day-to-day experience feels very user-friendly. Whenever I've needed help, their customer service team has been responsive and the built-in tools are solid and helpful for my workflow.
Cons ![]()
There isn't much I dislike overall. The one thing that left a bad taste was an annual fee that got added last year-it was for a service I don't use. Getting it sorted took a lot of back-and-forth before it was resolved.
Pros ![]()
At the beginning, tebra seemed like a solid all-in-one option, with promises around practice management, ehr capabilities, billing integration and better operational efficiency for healthcare orgs. The idea of consolidating multiple systems into a single platform sounded appealing while we were evaluating it.
Cons ![]()
Our organization ran into persistent workflow instability, with system lag and features that felt unreliable day-to-day. Reporting between the ehr and billing side didn't line up consistently and communication/support repeatedly fell short-issues weren't handled with continuity or timely follow-through. Trying to get problems resolved became extremely difficult because support didn't seem to stay engaged long enough to drive real fixes. We also saw major operational strain tied to platform reliability, account management and how the post-transition period was handled. Escalating to leadership didn't lead to meaningful resolution or real accountability.
Pros ![]()
The training feels really thorough and stays consistent throughout. Once you've finished the training, using the platform becomes much more manageable and the whole process feels bearable instead of overwhelming.
Cons ![]()
The SMS verification step can get in the way and adds some friction. Also, the pricing could be more affordable for someone just getting started.
Pros ![]()
I liked that after signing in right away, you can choose which client you want and all your providers show up right on the screen with their details.
Cons ![]()
It doesn't feel very user friendly-it's a bit finicky and doesn't give you much room for error if you tap the wrong button. Corrections seem limited to management, who has to clean up the "mistakes."
