for me the report-writing workflow proved extremely tedious and inflexible and because I had multiple funders asking for different levels of detail I found myself forced to produce a single report format that I then had to painstakingly edit , in some instances removing superfluous sections and in others inserting additional material , and the final documents ended up being too long and not at all parent-friendly.

As someone who uses Total ABA regularly, I find the interface simple and simple to navigate and the program's powerful set of features together with its comprehensive reporting tools are incredibly detailed which has proven to be an enormous time-saver for my workflow.

I appreciate that the messaging feature exists and can be handy for communication but I would suggest redesigning its layout and functionality so that it more closely resembles a conventional email interface which would make it feel more familiar and efficient to use.

As a practice, we're only beginning to implement the platform and so far I've been impressed by the responsiveness and helpfulness of their customer support team because our behavioral clinic has well-established data collection routines, the TotalABA staff have worked closely with us and thoughtfully developed update-driven features that accommodate and preserve our specific collection workflows which has made incorporating their product into our processes feasible.

One drawback I've noticed in the system is the limited ability to further customize goals once they have been entered into the treatment planning module which constrains our ability to tailor interventions, furthermore, there are multiple small controls and options that need to be toggled during initial client setup and because these steps are somewhat dispersed they can be easily overlooked when creating profiles for new clients.

I have absolutely no confidence that anyone with real ABA knowledge developed this platform. It is terribly unfriendly to users and there are so few capabilities available for performing data analysis (you know, Applied Behavior Analysis!?), plus the charts it produces are very poor in quality and do not permit any kind of analysis that would genuinely assist me in making informed treatment decisions. Entering goals and treatment plans takes an astonishing amount of time in this system and whenever I need to alter something I am forced to delete it and begin again from scratch. I previously worked with two other systems, Central Reach and Catalyst and although neither was perfect I preferred them both to being compelled to rely on this product, at this moment I would pay to switch back to either option. There are elements that appear appealing, such as choosing among different prompt types but here is the kicker: I cannot see that data anywhere in the interface so those seemingly attractive features amount to nothing useful for a behavior analyst and only serve to confuse RBTs while producing inaccurate records as a result. All of this impacts the clients who count on us for precise data to guide decisions about their care and despite our outreach to TABA for the support they contractually promised if services were required, we have received no assistance whatsoever.

We have an excellent team at Total ABA who are consistently prompt and ready to help at a moment's notice and I value the numerous customizations they implemented for our practice. Customer care has shown a great deal of ingenuity in determining ways to tailor a variety of functions to meet our specific requirements. Because this solution sits on the Salesforce platform, it feels highly adaptable and powerful, able to manage a wide range of tasks and I particularly appreciate that we can generate nearly every kind of report by applying the extensive set of available filters.
Cons
I don't make use of their Data Collection tools primarily because there is no app with offline functionality yet, having an app with offline capability would be a critical requirement for our data capture needs. At present, clinicians are forced to log into a different piece of software to record session data and then separately access Total ABA for billing and other administrative tasks which creates an inefficient, fragmented workflow that falls short of what we would consider ideal.

I find it exceptionally easy to use for taking notes and collecting data during sessions which makes routine documentation much quicker.

There are a lot of features I want to use but can't easily figure out how to access or configure so I frequently have to email customer support and ask them for step-by-step instructions on how to accomplish tasks.

One thing I appreciate is that the platform consolidates everything I need for scheduling, collecting data and programming into a single, centralized location which organizes my workflow.
