eMDs EHR Software

eMDs is a provider of fully-integrated electronic medical records, practice management, and revenue cycle management services for enterprises and practices. The vendor offers three healthcare solutions; Practice Choice, LytecMD, and Medisoft Clinical. Each solution includes its own unique features for a medical practice.

Practice Choice is designed to integrate EHR and organization management services. It is available as a server and cloud-based software. The solution is suitable for practices of all sizes and manages multiple clinical operations, more than the rest of eMDs’ EHR solutions.

LytechMD is suitable for smaller independent practices. The solution seamlessly integrates scheduling, clinical, and billing functionality to eliminate the need for double data entry, saving practices time, and reducing the need to hire additional staff. Even though the EHR system is deployed on-premise, it offers both an iPhone and Android app to allow users to enter patient data from anywhere. Just like LytechMD, Medisoft caters to independent physicians and is deployed on-premise. 

All three healthcare solutions come with customized templates and offer solutions across multiple specialties, including Cardiology, OB/GYN, Podiatry, Dermatology, Internal medicine, and more. The e-MDs systems comply with HIPAA regulations and are ONC-ATCB certified.

Review

Pros:
The system is not a problem at all to use. Calling tech support is hardly required because of the ease of use. Fixing problems if you make an error is easy.

Cons:
The billing system interface is too boring in black and white neds to have color in it.

It isn’t that great

Pros:
There isn’t anything as such that I can think of, but the menu was kind of OKAY, although the buttons on the menu didn’t work always.

Cons:
The system stays down most of the time, about 50% of the time, I’d say. You ask the customer support to fix things for you, but I haven’t seen any improvements that they might have made. Getting help itself is quite a struggle, you don’t get it that much or that easy. The test result and the messaging functions often don’t work. The MD staff also agrees that the portal they have is terrible. There are many bad portals that I’ve used, but this is in the list of worse portals. They can’t gain my trust that easy anymore.

Review

Pros:
I used e-MD in the past, and I did enjoy using it. It was easy to use, and it was quite an amazing software that I used in the medical field. The system is quite self-explanatory so, I don’t think that anyone would ever have an issue in using this system.

Cons:
There was an issue with the system of restarting all by itself or completely shutting down, and we had no idea why it happened. Sometimes when the system froze, all the work also gets lost, the one that you currently are working when it freezes.

Recommended software.

Pros:
It is a very user-friendly software. I recommend this software to everyone having a practice. It is quite comprehensive and easy to use. It is a very good billing software. The reports are nice, but the crystal reports are sometimes a bit hard. It is easy to overview an account and individual invoices, without much navigation to other pages. It is an amazing software.

Cons:
The customer service isn’t that great, the response time has kind of improved, but to my any question their answer is mostly no. They always are unable to help. My least favorite thing about this product is its collection module. It only has the invoice-based option.

Stay Away

Pros:
NONE. Just avoid it.

Cons:
I have been wanting to send secondary claims for over a month, but everything is useless, and I can’t send them. Nothing is of any help when it comes to getting a thing right on this system. For me this system has been a pain and nothing else, now I have to print the claims and send them manually.

e-MD

Pros:
This system always is up to date regarding new features, its quality and all. The reporting system is quite robust. Mining for data is so much easy with this system as dates and data can be adjusted accordingly. The user conference that they arrange is remarkable and helps us do better, and I always recommend sending anyone from each department to go and visit the conference. The best part of this system is its administrative reports and it replaces every other system that I’ve worked with before.

Cons:
The customer support team is a basically a third party that the company has hired, so getting in touch with the customer support team is awfully hard, especially when you have a concern. Albeit, they pretty much did a great job at helping us solve any issues that we faced. The templates that are provided in this system are advance level and hard to create. The scheduling is a bit old-fashioned. Last but not least, the major issue for most, is its price. It is very expensive.
