  • Electronic Health Records

eMDs offers an integrated electronic health record that centralizes all patient information in a single, easy-to-use chart. Physicians and staff can quickly access a patient's medical history, diagnoses, medications, allergies, lab results, immunization records, and more from any exam room. This consolidated view of the patient's health information saves time and helps providers make more informed care decisions at the point of care.

  • Practice Management

It includes advanced scheduling features for efficient appointment management, streamlined insurance and patient billing processes, and powerful reporting tools to analyze financial metrics. The system also integrates seamlessly with eMDs' EHR platform to provide a unified clinical and administrative workflow.

  • Quality Reporting Tools

eMDs provides a MACRA dashboard that allows practices to easily track their progress towards MIPS or APM goals in real-time. The dashboard shows performance measure scores across categories from within the EHR. Practitioners can drill down to see how individual patient charts and notes impact numerators and denominators. This gives clear visibility into their performance and enables informed decision-making.

  • Bilingual Patient Portal

This feature enables patients to participate actively in their care process. They can access their medical records, communicate with their providers, and complete forms in their preferred language, ensuring clear and effective communication. Overall, it is designed to support patient care and foster stronger patient-provider relationships, ultimately leading to better healthcare experiences.

  • Mobile App

The mobile application provides convenient access to patient charts and records from anywhere. Practicing clinicians and staff members can easily view patient information, update notes, order tests and prescriptions, and pay bills online using the intuitive mobile interface. Pros thumbs-up

I don't have many positive points to mention. Although the system was promised to have numerous valuable features, they all come with additional costs.

Cons thumbs-up

The EMD(CGM) company's impressive sales pitch for the EHR initially convinced us it was a wise choice. However, after signing the contract, promised features like interoperability, PMD use through the system, and LINKS for vaccine history verification were absent and available only at an additional cost. Virtual training sessions compounded our issues with the system's everyday flow, and on-site assistance came at an unreasonably high cost. Freezing and error messages persisted, and EMD's support, accessed through a "support ticket," exhibited unsatisfactory turnaround times. Our practice incurred significant expenses trying to resolve issues, impacting patient care and billing. Unexpected costs for Medicare reporting for MIPS and discrepancies in monthly invoicing strained our relationship with EMDs, coupled with a substantial increase. The overall experience suggests a lack of transparency and commitment, prompting consideration of collective action against EMDs.

EMDs was excellent 15 years ago with ease of use and all features. However, that was fifteen years ago!

Cons thumbs-up

After more than 15 years with EMDs, exploring other market options revealed numerous superior alternatives. EMDs remained stagnant, with updates worsening the system, requiring more clicks for simple tasks. Additionally, third-party apps, necessary for basic functions, come at an extra cost, unlike other EMR systems offering them as part of the package.

Pros thumbs-up

EMDs is among the most user-friendly EHR systems I've encountered. New employees can grasp the system in just a couple of days. Customizable chart note templates make it easy to create and input information the way you want. The ability to view current balances on patients entering the office facilitates timely collections.

Cons thumbs-up

There's little to dislike about the system, as it encompasses all necessary functions for our practice's operations.

Pros thumbs-up

There isn’t anything as such that I can think of, but the menu was kind of OKAY, although the buttons on the menu didn’t work always.

Cons thumbs-up

The system stays down most of the time, about 50% of the time, I’d say. You ask the customer support to fix things for you, but I haven’t seen any improvements that they might have made. Getting help itself is quite a struggle, you don’t get it that much or that easy. The test result and the messaging functions often don’t work. The MD staff also agrees that the portal they have is terrible. There are many bad portals that I’ve used, but this is in the list of worse portals. They can’t gain my trust that easy anymore.

Pros thumbs-up

This system is not a problem at all to use. Calling tech support is hardly required because of the ease of use. Fixing problems if you make an error is easy.

Cons thumbs-up

The billing system interface is too boring in black and white neds to have color in it.

I dislike this software; it's slow, and customer service is inadequate.

EMDs' customer service is inadequate, with unresolved tickets stretching over months and ineffective communication. The emphasis on creating tickets without prompt issue resolution adds to the frustration.
