At first Exym felt like an intimidating beast when I opened it, but after I learned the ropes the interface became really straightforward to navigate and I find it an excellent tool for keeping client files organized and documenting everything clearly.

I've run into occasions where entries don't seem to save unless I hit the save button explicitly, which could be something with my computer, so I make it a habit to save regularly to avoid losing work.
Pros ![]()
I find the Client Assessment page a bit busy visually, yet I can still easily make sense of it and complete it without much trouble, so despite the clutter it remains quite usable.
Cons ![]()
Regarding the layout for entering progress notes, I feel it's overly long and would be much more efficient if I could use checkboxes for common items and only two or three short lines to jot a succinct overall progress summary.
Pros ![]()
I find Exym Software really straightforward to use and, while it isn't infinitely customizable, it does offer a decent degree of flexibility for many workflows; on top of that, their support team has been reliable when I needed help and knowing the platform is HIPAA compliant gives me confidence about data security.
Cons ![]()
That said, I've encountered areas where functionality is fixed "as designed" and can't be modified to meet specific requirements, which can be frustrating when my processes dem and greater adaptability.
Pros ![]()
In my work as an administrative clerk, I find it straightforward to assemble charts, upload inventory items and keep detailed service logs, which really streamlines my daily tasks.
Cons ![]()
My primary frustration is that the client communications area becomes overloaded with reminder texts and once those message threads hit their limit no additional texts are dispatched, which leads to missed notifications for clients.
Pros ![]()
We've found EXYM to be a fully featured EHR platform that covers most of our needs and now with CalAIM on the horizon I'm really looking forward to the incoming reports that should finally give our management team clear, actionable productivity numbers.
Cons ![]()
I get really annoyed by the delays in real-time data that our managers depend on , CalAIM in particular has been a headache and to make matters worse, important updates or changes are sometimes announced at the last minute, which creates unnecessary disruption.
Pros ![]()
Using Exym Software, I've found it remarkably easy to use and quite versatile, smoothly adapting to different workflows and tasks without a steep learning curve.
Cons ![]()
However, what I find limiting is that I can't modify reports unless I pay an additional fee, which feels like an unnecessary restriction on basic functionality.
Pros ![]()
I'm still learning my way around the platform, since we've only been using Exym for less than a year now.
Cons ![]()
Unfortunately, customer support operates entirely via email, so I can't speak to anyone live when issues pop up; responses often take several days to arrive and there isn't a call center to escalate things. I attempted to batch our billing claims but was unable to do so and later learned they had discontinued batching altogether without notifying us, which I believe they should have communicated.
Pros ![]()
For me, the interface is really intuitive and the way everything is arranged follows a sensible, logical flow that makes it easy to navigate and complete routine tasks without much fuss.
Cons ![]()
I've noticed that responses from the help desk can take quite a long time and because of those delays we've had our billing processes stalled, which has been frustrating and disruptive.
Pros ![]()
I really like that the system makes both charting and billing straightforward and intuitive, so I can move through documentation and invoices without getting bogged down by complicated menus or confusing workflows.
Cons ![]()
What frustrates me is the long delay I often encounter when opening a support ticket and I'm also disappointed that Medicare billing isn't built into the platform, forcing me to buy a separate third-party solution that integrates with the Exym system, which adds cost and complexity to our setup.
Pros ![]()
Exym has simplified and streamlined the County's billing process, which would have been costly without the software.
Cons ![]()
The creation of documents is restricted by the limitations of the activity templates.
